RAT WAX Application Directions
STEP #1 - ANSWER THIS QUESTION FIRST
Have you used any other brand of Detailer, Wax, or Car Soap on your vehicle’s surface?
If Yes, proceed to Step #2.
If No, proceed to Step #3
STEP #2 - PRE-CLEAN ***
(DO NOT DO THIS STEP ON: Primers, or Spray Can Rustoleum)
In order for Rat Wax to work properly you should remove all other brands of Detailers, Waxes, or Car Soaps with shine enhancers from your vehicle’s surface, as we consider them contaminants. Here is how: go to your local market and buy: Liquid Dawn Dish Soap. Put some into a wash bucket with water to make suds. Using a microfiber towel, gently clean the surface of your vehicle. Rinse thoroughly. This action strips off the old residue and contaminants (i.e. shine enhancers) to allow for a fresh base to use Rat Wax on. Liquid Dawn Dish Soap should never be used as your normal car soap, due to its detergent qualities and high pH level. Use it only once for this pre-cleaning step.
STEP #3 - WASH
ALWAYS USE A MICROFIBER CLOTH & WASH VEHICLE WHEN SURFACE IS COOL.
Use 3 cap fulls of Rat Wax Car Soap in a 5 gallon bucket. Use a Microfiber towel or sponge to wash. Don’t rub hard, let the citrus suds do most of the work to carry the dirt away. Rinse well with water and dry with a Microfiber towel.
STEP #4 - DETAIL
Spray Rat Wax lightly on a Microfiber towel and wipe in one direction with light pressure to clean contaminants from the vehicle’s finish. Rat Wax should look like it’s beginning to evaporate. At this point, use the clean side of the Microfiber towel to lightly buff and wipe dry. Repeat this process for the entire vehicle. Always do one section of the vehicle at a time. For best results, apply Rat Wax to a cool surface in the shade. For maximum UV protection of the vehicle’s finish, reapply Rat Wax every 2-4 weeks.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
Why is Rat Wax streaking on my vehicle’s finish?
The answer could be 5 reasons:
1. This can occur if you’re not using a Microfiber towel.
2. This can occur if you’re using too much product directly on the vehicle’s finish or using an already saturated microfiber towel.
Solution: Buff out the streaks with a different Microfiber towel that isn’t saturated. Spray a smaller amount of Rat Wax on to the Microfiber towel. Change out your Microfiber towel often for another clean and dry one.
3. This can occur if you have previously used other brand Detailers, Waxes, or Car Soaps with Shine Enhancers.
Rat Wax is trying remove these contaminating chemicals.
Solution: You must remove this with Liquid Dawn Dish Soap (see STEP #2 of Rat Wax Application Directions)
4. This can occur if you’re using the product in direct sunlight or the car’s surface is hot.
Solution: Work in the shade or let your car's surface cool.
5. This can occur if your vehicle has a finish that is already heavily oxidized (i.e. years of neglect, major chalking, cracking, peeling, uneven color) .Solution: If your vehicle’s finish is in that rough of shape you only have one option….re-paint it. Once that’s completed, you can then use Rat Wax to Clean & Protect it.
